GROUNDWATER PROVINCES

Based on available lithologs, Central GroundWater Board has tentatively divided the Kerala State into various ground water provinces as shown in the Plate. Almost the entire-southern Kerala coast has been shown as suitable for heavy duty or light duty tubewells. However, to avoid salinity incursion, it is not advisable to have largescale groundwater withdrawal from these areas.
